This Privacy Policy applies to the DZS Labs website and to DZS Labs products and services that link to this Policy.

These may include web applications, mobile applications, browser extensions, Google Workspace integrations, Shopify applications, WordPress plugins, APIs, templates, downloadable software, and other digital products.

Not every DZS Labs product collects or processes every type of information described in this Policy.

Each product may have a separate Product Privacy Notice describing its actual data practices, permissions, integrations, retention periods, and other product-specific information.

Where a Product Privacy Notice provides more specific information than this general Privacy Policy, the Product Privacy Notice applies to that product.

Depending on the product and processing activity, DZS Infinity LLC may process information for its own business purposes or process information on behalf of a business customer that uses a DZS Labs product.

Where we process information solely on behalf of a business customer, that customer may be responsible for determining how and why the relevant personal information is processed.

3. Information We Process

The information processed depends on the product you use, the features you enable, the integrations you connect, and the permissions you grant.

Account and Contact Information

Where applicable, we may receive information such as your:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • organization or business name;
  • account identifier;
  • profile information;
  • communication preferences; and
  • information you provide when contacting us.

Authentication Information

If you authenticate using a third-party identity or platform provider, we may receive the information required to authenticate you and connect your account.

Depending on the provider and authorization you grant, this may include your account identifier, email address, display name, authorization tokens, or similar authentication information.

We do not need to receive your password when authentication is performed directly by the applicable third-party provider.

Product Configuration Information

Products may process settings or configuration information necessary to provide their functionality.

Examples may include selected preferences, integration settings, enabled features, connected resources, or license configuration.

User Content

Some products may process content or data that you intentionally provide, create, select, upload, connect, or instruct the product to process.

Depending on the product, this may include documents, text, files, spreadsheet information, website content, ecommerce information, product information, store data, images, or other content.

The applicable Product Privacy Notice should identify the actual content handled by that product.

Technical and Diagnostic Information

Where necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or maintain a product, we may process technical information such as:

  • application or extension version;
  • browser type;
  • operating system;
  • device type;
  • timestamps;
  • IP address;
  • error information;
  • crash information;
  • security events; and
  • limited diagnostic or performance information.

Product-specific notices will describe any material telemetry or analytics used by the applicable product.

Transaction and Subscription Information

Where you purchase a paid product, we may receive transaction-related information such as:

  • product purchased;
  • subscription or license status;
  • transaction identifier;
  • amount;
  • currency;
  • billing country;
  • payment status; and
  • limited billing information supplied by the payment processor.

Payment-card or financial-account information may be handled directly by the applicable payment provider or marketplace rather than by DZS Labs.

4. Information From Third-Party Platforms

Some DZS Labs products integrate with third-party platforms.

We receive only the information made available through the permissions, scopes, APIs, or authorization you grant to the applicable product.

The exact information depends on the specific integration.

A Product Privacy Notice should identify material third-party data accessed by an applicable product.

5. Google API Services

Some DZS Labs products may connect to Google services using Google API Services.

For such products, we disclose the Google data requested, the purpose for requesting it, and how it is used through the applicable product interface, authorization flow, documentation, and/or Product Privacy Notice.

DZS Labs requests Google permissions only where they are intended to support the disclosed functionality of the applicable product.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.

For Google data subject to Limited Use requirements, we do not use or transfer that data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or other purposes prohibited by Google's applicable policies.

Human access to such Google data is restricted to circumstances permitted under Google's applicable policies, such as where the user has provided appropriate authorization, access is necessary for security purposes, access is required by law, or permitted aggregated processing is used for internal operations.

6. Chrome Web Store Products

Some DZS Labs products may be distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

For those products, DZS Labs limits the collection, use, and transfer of user data to the product's disclosed purpose and other uses permitted by the Chrome Web Store policies.

DZS Labs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, for products to which those requirements apply.

A Chrome extension's Product Privacy Notice and Chrome Web Store disclosures should identify:

  • the data the extension handles;
  • whether information is processed locally or transmitted externally;
  • the permissions requested;
  • why each material permission is required;
  • relevant third parties; and
  • applicable retention and deletion practices.

An extension will not intentionally collect browsing activity except where necessary for a user-facing feature that has been appropriately disclosed.

7. Shopify Products

A DZS Labs Shopify application may process information made available through Shopify APIs according to the permissions required for that application's functionality.

Depending on the particular application, this may include merchant, shop, product, order, inventory, customer, theme, or configuration information.

The applicable Product Privacy Notice will identify the categories actually processed by that Shopify application.

Where required for an app distributed through the Shopify App Store, we process applicable Shopify privacy and data-subject requests through Shopify's required compliance mechanisms.

8. WordPress Products

Some DZS Labs products may be WordPress plugins, themes, or related services.

A WordPress product that sends information to a DZS Labs server or another external service should disclose that behavior in its applicable documentation and Product Privacy Notice.

Where applicable, WordPress products may also provide suggested privacy-policy information or support WordPress privacy tools for information processed by the plugin.

9. Mobile Applications

DZS Labs mobile applications may process device or app information necessary for their functionality.

The applicable App Store, Google Play, or Product Privacy Notice will describe the categories of information actually collected and the purposes for which they are used.

Marketplace privacy declarations are intended to reflect the practices of the particular application and should not be interpreted as applying automatically to every DZS Labs product.

10. How We Use Information

Depending on the product and context, we may process information to:

  • provide requested product functionality;
  • create and manage accounts;
  • authenticate users;
  • establish requested integrations;
  • process user-requested data or content;
  • manage licenses and subscriptions;
  • process transactions;
  • provide customer support;
  • communicate operational or security information;
  • detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • maintain product security;
  • diagnose errors;
  • maintain reliability and performance;
  • comply with applicable law;
  • comply with legitimate marketplace requirements;
  • enforce applicable agreements; and
  • improve functionality using information that may lawfully be used for that purpose.

We do not materially change the purpose for which personal information is used without providing any notice or consent required by applicable law or platform policy.

11. Legal Bases Where GDPR or Similar Laws Apply

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing, our basis may depend on the particular activity.

We may rely on processing that is necessary to perform a contract with you, such as providing a purchased Service.

We may process information where necessary for legitimate interests such as securing our Services, preventing fraud, maintaining reliability, responding to support requests, and operating our business, provided those interests are not overridden by applicable individual rights.

Where required, we rely on consent.

We may also process information where necessary to comply with legal obligations.

A Product Privacy Notice may provide more specific information where appropriate.

12. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our products.

Depending on the Service, these may include providers of:

  • cloud infrastructure;
  • database services;
  • authentication;
  • payment processing;
  • transactional email;
  • customer support;
  • security;
  • error monitoring; or
  • other technical infrastructure.

We may also exchange information with a platform or integration provider where necessary to provide a connection you requested.

Service providers are expected to process information according to applicable contractual and legal obligations.

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, valid legal process, prevent fraud or abuse, protect users or systems, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights and safety of DZS Infinity LLC and others.

Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of relevant business assets, subject to applicable law and any stricter platform restrictions applicable to specific data.

13. Advertising and Data Monetization

Private content obtained through Google API permissions, Chrome extension permissions, Shopify APIs, productivity integrations, or comparable restricted integrations is not used for advertising where prohibited by applicable platform policies.

We do not use information subject to Google or Chrome Limited Use restrictions for personalized, interest-based, or retargeted advertising.

Each Product Privacy Notice will disclose any material analytics, advertising, or tracking technology applicable to that product.

14. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The DZS Labs website and web applications may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for functions such as authentication, security, preferences, and session management.

We may also use analytics or similar technologies where disclosed.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will request that consent before activating them.

Users may also have browser controls for managing cookies and local storage.

15. Payment Providers

Payment transactions may be handled by third-party payment processors or marketplaces.

Those providers may independently collect payment, fraud-prevention, billing, and transaction information according to their own policies.

DZS Labs may receive transaction information needed to confirm payment, activate a license, manage a subscription, issue support, maintain accounting records, or prevent fraud.

16. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, subject to contractual, security, accounting, tax, legal, dispute-resolution, and other legitimate retention requirements.

Retention differs by product and data category.

Product Privacy Notices should provide more specific retention information where the applicable product stores user data beyond a transient processing period.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it, subject to applicable legal and technical requirements.

Information contained in backups may remain until the applicable backup is overwritten or securely deleted according to the relevant retention cycle.

17. Account and Data Deletion

Where a DZS Labs product allows users to create an account, users may request deletion using the mechanisms made available for that product.

Our external account and data deletion information is available at:

https://dzslabs.site/account-deletion

Applicable mobile products that are required to support in-app account deletion will also provide an appropriate deletion path within the application.

Following a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize information that is required to be deleted, subject to permitted or required retention for matters such as financial records, fraud prevention, security, disputes, or legal obligations.

Product-specific deletion behavior will be described where appropriate.

18. Uninstalling an Application

Uninstalling a browser extension, plugin, Shopify application, mobile application, or other software does not necessarily delete information already stored on a DZS Labs server.

Where server-side information is associated with an account or installation, users should follow the applicable account or data deletion procedure if they also want that information deleted.

The behavior of each product may differ and will be explained in the applicable Product Privacy Notice where material.

19. Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request:

  • access to personal information;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • deletion;
  • restriction of certain processing;
  • objection to certain processing;
  • portability of certain information; or
  • withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

Certain jurisdictions may provide additional rights relating to particular uses or disclosures of personal information.

To exercise applicable privacy rights, contact:

[email protected]

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights protected by applicable law.

20. International Processing and Transfers

DZS Labs products and service providers may process information in countries other than the country where a user is located.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use an applicable legal transfer mechanism or other permitted safeguard.

Product Privacy Notices may identify relevant hosting regions or transfer arrangements where appropriate.

21. Security

We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, or loss.

The specific safeguards used depend on the nature of the product and information processed.

No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

22. Children

DZS Labs products are generally designed for productivity, professional, developer, ecommerce, and small-business workflows and are not intentionally directed to children where such processing would require parental authorization or otherwise be prohibited by applicable law.

If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to address it.

Parents or guardians may contact us at:

[email protected]

23. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our products may link to or integrate with services operated independently by third parties.

Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

This Privacy Policy does not control independent processing performed by third parties acting for their own purposes.

24. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our products, technology, legal obligations, or business practices.

The "Last Updated" date indicates the most recent revision.

Where applicable law or platform rules require additional notice or consent for a material change, we will provide it.
